2008 Annual Report for Faith Children's Village

As we close out 2008 there are 52 children and 14 staff call Faith Children’s Village home.

Several of our children professed faith in Christ this year and followed the Lord in baptism.  Alubinda, one of the girls who has been with us for a couple years, and Bertha, one of the girls who came to live at the Village this year both came to know Christ and were baptized this year.

God has answered prayer throughout the year allowing us to achieve a balanced budget for the first time in the history of the Village.  All praise to God for bringing a necessary increase in monthly financial support for the orphanage.  God also burdened a supporting church to donate solar equipment to the Village.  This donation has cut our fuel expense to a fraction of what it was earlier in the year (Fuel is $8 per gallon).  Water is our most urgent need at the Village the pumps are now operating on solar power instead of generators.  Praise the Lord.

Lori Hunt has taken over as Chief Financial Officer and is handling all the Zambia accounts for the Village.  She also works with the house mothers and ensures the needs of the children are being met.  Phil & Lori Hunt have have been conducting discipleship / training classes at Faith Children’s Village and assisting in the oversight of the ministry.  Joe Mbewe is serving as the Administrator of FCV and is leading a staff of 14 men and women.  Helen Berman is our resident nurse and disciple-maker.  She has served faithfully throughout 2008 carrying an especially heavy load while Phil & Lori Hunt were in the USA.
