There are several projects underway at the Village.

House number six is nearing completion.  A special thanks to Merrimack Valley for help with the completion of this house.  The plumbing of the house is beginning this next week.  Then it will only be doors and windows and the house will be ready for the patter of children's feet!

Blocks are being manufactured for construction of three additional houses.  Below is a visual progression of how the blocks are made. Each orphan house requires 10,000 blocks.

Soil is excavated
Soil is transported to the processing site
Cement is dry-mixed with soil then water added
Mix is run through a hydraulic press which forms the block
Blocks are stacked and cured for 21 days
Blocks interlock and dry-stack to build the walls
