The "Ntemba" (grocery) is located at the Village along the road that runs past the property.  The Ntemba carries basic staples required by the community of Kakolo.  It also carries "sweets" (penny candies) that are very popular with the children.  Quality used clothing is sometimes sold as well.  The older children take turns running the grocery store.  They are taught to keep financial records, inventory and how to balance at the end of the day.  This project only puts about $50 back into the operations of the Village each month, but it has great value in hands-on training of the children.
